5 Workshops Monitors Role Staff Expectations Key Responsibilities

6 Guidelines Monitor’s Responsibilities: Report to the Speaker Ready Room (Room 8226) 30 minutes prior to the start time of your assigned workshop. Check in and pick up your workshop binder, which will include: Evaluation forms NCLR Professional Development Certificate Cards NCLR label validations for the NCLR Professional Development Certificate Cards Workshop/Town Hall-only registration forms 50 pens Checklist of workshop-related information Additional materials, if requested from the workshop coordinator Once you have all of your materials, proceed to your assigned workshop room and: Check in with presenter and workshop coordinator, introduce yourself, and tell them you will be the contact person for their needs Confirm that the layout of the room is correct. If not, please contact Maria or Sylvana in Room 8226 Confirm that all AV equipment is present and working properly. If not, please contact Maria or Sylvana in Room 8226 Confirm that the screen is up with NCLR welcome branding Inform the workshop moderator of all workshop housekeeping needs. See details below. Check for any last-minute requests or additional materials that may be needed Request a set of workshop materials from the workshop coordinator, as well as a business card for follow- up and to post on our website

7 Guidelines Prior to the start of the workshop, please go over the following ground rules with the workshop coordinator. The workshop moderator should announce these rules at the beginning of the session. Cell phones must be turned off or made silent. All participants must complete an evaluation form by the end of the workshop. Those attending only workshops or Town Halls should have signed up at a Workshop or Town Hall booth to receive a badge indicating such. Those who haven’t signed up as a workshop attendee must complete a Workshop/Town Hall-only Registration postcard and turn it in after the workshop at the appropriate booth to receive a badge. Explain the NCLR Professional Development Certificate Cards and workshop track certification process at the beginning and end of the workshop. Have attendees participating in workshop track certification with NCLR Professional Development Certificate Cards check in with the workshop monitor after the session to have their cards validated. NOTE: As participants enter the workshop room, please check for anyone not wearing a badge. If they do not have a badge, request their business card or their contact information and ask that they complete a Workshop/Town Hall-only registration post card after the workshop and return it to the appropriate booth to receive a badge. Return the following to the Speaker Ready Room 8226: Completed evaluations forms Remaining NCLR Professional Development Certificate Cards NCLR label validations for the NCLR Professional Development Certificate Cards 50 pens Final copy of material provided at the workshop Checklist filled out with workshop information
