3 PREAMBLE:  Inspections are important to get exact, current field data.  Periodical inspections are called schedules which remedies defects at the right time, leading towards consistent productivity.  The schedules must be definitely planned.

5 I.SCHEDULING OF INSPECTIONS  Present day’s pattern of schedules at various levels tries to ensure the provision of codes and manuals.  The schedule of inspections becomes repetitive nature in getting the same field data, thereby spending valuable working time of supervisory.

7 From the above it is clear that,27 days in a month is required for the supervisor to complete his schedule in a month.

8 II.FORMAT OF INSPECTION NOTES IN MORE USEFUL WAY:  This is aimed for the optimum utilization of the available resources.  The inspection by the higher ups should be aimed to improve the system.  The inspection notes should be framed preferably within the scope of all the resources.  Such resources are to be arranged by the officer at divisional/HQ level by committing through the same set of inspection notes  The notes warranting non stocked stores should be followed up by the officers concerned to get indents from the supervisory up to the supply made available to him and the target date is fixed.

10 III.RECORDS TO BE BROUGHT BY INSPECTING OFFICIALS:  The copies of stock returns(T&P,other stores) –gives the position of the available materials in the section such that the target date is fixed in the notes itself.  The details of pending indents and its location with reasons arrived through chasers.  Scope with field data for using zonal contractor in his section length.  Pending inspection notes yet to be complied.  Chart showing the details of locations due for machine maintenance.  Locations requiring assistance from other wings of same department or from other department  Plans & drawings.

11 IV.ARRANGEMENT OF MEN,MACHINE POWERS AND MATERIALS:  To materialize the inspection notes, it is utmost important to mobilize the resources in time.  It is also necessary to project the requirement by the field official well in advance to achieve a solid compliance.  The concept of “WHAT IS NEXT" has to be engraved into the minds of field men, thereby planning for man power (available or proposal for agency), indenting for materials (stocked or non-stocked), requirement of machine power with period details are done well before.  For this purpose,the following chart may be followed
