2 HPD: BIKE-PED ADVOCACY GROUP Promotes biking and walking as alternative transportation system Works for improved bike and pedestrian safety Encourages biking and walking as a healthier life style Designs comprehensive plans, legislation, and regulations to address the imbalance between cars and human powered transportation Works closely with city, state and local officials to accomplish dramatic change

5 REQUEST TO GIAB Incorporate HPD Master Plan and Phasing into the City’s Bike Ped Master Plan Components of Master Plan Atlantic Avenue – CBD loop Intermodal access to Tri-Rail Access to beaches EW-NS grid of bike and walking paths enabling bike to work, school, and play Use of canals to connect east and west Delray

7 PHASE A Sharrows on Atlantic Ave (A1A to SW 12th Ave) Bike lane on Atlantic Ave (SW 12th Ave) to bike lane on Congress and Tri-Rail Station Bike lane and sidewalks George Bush Blvd from A1A to Federal Highway (or 2 nd Ave)

8 PHASE B Beach - Federal Loop by completing Bike Lanes on Federal Highway and to A1A along Linton Blvd. Begin E-4 Canal Project by utilizing city land (Golf Course and Atlantic High School). Create Interlocal Agreement with the Lake Worth Drainage District.

9 PHASE C E-4 Canal Greenway, El Rio Trail in Boca to North Lake Ida Park in Boynton E-4 Canal Greenway to Federal Highway Bike Lanes along Lowson Blvd / SW 10th Street. Create East-West Improved Alley Network north and south of Atlantic Avenue.

10 PHASE D E-4 Canal Greenway and existing bike lanes along Lake Ida/NE 4th Street to Federal Highway Create East West Improved Alley Network downtown connected to North South Alleys Begin Planning for L-36 and L-32 East-West Canals to connect to the E-4 Canal Greenway
