2 Fun with “k” Words -1 ‘k’ at the beginning of simple words The ‘k’ sound is a short, voiceless sound made by the tongue lifting at the back of the mouth. Fun with “k” Words works with the common speech errors of: 1.substituting a ‘t’ sound for a ‘k’ sound (eg. where “cow” becomes “tow”) 2.and/or turning the voice on when it should be off (eg. where “car” becomes “gar”) Praise your child for great talking when they say the words correctly and remind them why they did well. This way you teach the broader concept as you go. Use phrases such as: “Your tongue was up at the back of your mouth – well done” ”That was a lovely quiet ‘k’ sound”. Hope you enjoy the show! This show was compiled to cater specifically for individual speech sound strengths and difficulties. It is to be used only under the direction of a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist.
