1 TeO2 Polarizing Optics – Wollaston Prisms & Beam Displacers

2 Company "Elent A/Elent Technics" has more than 20 years experience in manufacturing and processing of TeO 2 crystals. Based on our own production and technical capabilities we now offer to our customers TeO 2 Polarizing optics - Glan and Wollaston prisms as well as Beam Displacers. Prisms can be manufactured with air clearance and glued depending on Customer specific requirements. Together with stable material quality we offer prisms with high aperture (40 mm and up) and perfect material uniformity that provides high polarization level. 3 General Information All polarizing optics based on TeO 2 has parameters not worse than:  Extinction ratio - 1:100000  Power capability - 200 MWt/cm 2  Scratch/dig – 20/10  Flatness – ¼ lambda (633 nm)  X-Ray oriented: 3 min  Angel tolerance: 2 min We can put AR coating on in and out prism faces for selected wavelength with R<0,2%. Also we offer multilayer broadband AR coatings to in and out prism faces with following parameters:  AR coating 370 - 460 nm - R<0,5%  AR coating 440 - 750 nm - R<2%  AR coating 450 - 600 nm - R<0,5%  AR coating 700 - 1000 nm - R<0,75%  AR coating 1000 - 1400 nm - R<0,5%

4 Wollaston Polarizing Prism Two prisms where optic axes are mutually perpendicular cemented together. Light propagation direction doesn't coincide with optic axis in no one prism half that completely excludes parasitic effect of crystals optical activity. We offer two prisms types:  Type 1 - beam displace θ=5 degrees for 633 nm with ration of length to the aperture L/A=1  Type 2 - beam displace θ=10 degrees for 633 nm with ration of length to the aperture L/A=1

7 TeO 2 Beam Displacer Unpolarized light is divided by two beams with mutually perpendicular polarization propagating in parallel each other on the defined distance d. This distance can be precisely calculated for definite light wavelength. If the displacing distance is bigger than aperture d>A extraordinary ray is completely absorbed by crystals side surface, and only linearly polarized ordinary ray will out the crystal. We can manufacture and supply such crystals with light transmission length up to 90 mm.

8 TeO 2 Polarizing Optics Possible application TeO 2 Polarizing prisms can be used as a substitution of natural calcite (CaCO 3 ) prisms so as nowadays it is very complicate to extract last one with good uniformity ratio and sizes for big aperture. Moreover TeO 2 prisms are the best variant for Middle IR range 1 - 5 mkm. Polarizing Optics based on tellurium dioxide makes a good showing as image polarizer in Acousto-optic Tunable filters and Spectrometers for IR range.
