(Ac. 20:17-38) “What if This Were the Last Sermon?”

“What if This Were the Last Sermon?” Acts 20:25 "And indeed, now I know that you all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, will see my face no more. Acts 20:25 "And indeed, now I know that you all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, will see my face no more.

If this were the last sermon I ever preach I want you to know that… …the sermon you live is every bit as important as the one you preach! “…he said to them: ‘You know, from the first day that I came to Asia, in what manner I always lived among you’”

If this were the last sermon I ever preach I want you to know that… …making sure to serve is as important as the attitude you serve with! "serving the Lord with all humility, with many tears and trials which happened to me by the plotting of the Jews”

If this were the last sermon I ever preach I want you to know that… …we shouldn’t hold back anything helpful! "how I kept back nothing that was helpful, but proclaimed it to you, and taught you publicly and from house to house”

If this were the last sermon I ever preach I want you to know that… …we shouldn’t hold back anything helpful! Paul’s Preaching Resulted In an Uproar! Antioch - Acts 13:50; Iconium – Acts 14:5; Lystra - Acts 14:19; Philippi – Acts 16:19; Thessalonica – Acts 17:5; Berea – Acts 17:13; Corinth – Acts 18:12; Ephesus – Acts 19:29-32; Jerusalem Ac. 21:30-31; 22:22-23

If this were the last sermon I ever preach I want you to know that… …repentance & faith are vital! "testifying to Jews, and also to Greeks, repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.”

“Repentance” (From #3349 metanoeo [met-an-o-eh'-o]) “Meta” meaning to change… + “noeo” means thinking: From a Root Word = “to exercise the mind” = “change your mind; to exercise your thoughts in order to change your way of thinking” "…unless you repent you will all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:3)

If this were the last sermon I ever preach I want you to know that… …you must be willing to go WHEREVER the Lord leads you! "And see, now I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that will happen to me there, "except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that chains and tribulations await me. "But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

If this were the last sermon I ever preach I want you to know that… …you must be willing to go WHEREVER the Lord leads you! (James 1:2-3) “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. “

If this were the last sermon I ever preach I want you to know that… …you need to see yourself as part of something larger! "Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.”

If this were the last sermon I ever preach I want you to know that… …studying, understanding and applying the word of God is of the utmost importance! "So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.”

If this were the last sermon I ever preach I want you to know that… …you need to support the weak! "I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"
