Rome Fake Book Project Person researched _________________________ Project Timeline Assigned: April 21, 2015, Lab Research Due: April 23, Due Date: May 15, 2015 It’s time for you to show what you know about the historical figures from Ancient Rome. For this project, you will do research, and create a Fake book page for the person you selected. Please look over the Fake book page for Julius Caesar located on your teacher’s webpage. You will be able to edit that file, by finding the same information that pertains to the person you have researched. Remember to use it as a guide for completing your own. All of this information may not be in the research you completed, but try to fill in information for all parts based on what you researched about the person and be creative! Project Requirements Fakebook Wall (45 points) Your name(you must type your name on line identified on example) View photo(This page should include a picture, and the name of the historical figure). Information section (Birthday, place of birth, place of death, occupation, and death date). Friends section(page should have pictures and names of 4 “friends”. These are people that your biographical figure would have known (family, famous friends, etc.) Full Name(If provided, full name must be at top to the right of picture) Write something(Write about an important event from person's life) Time line of Events(Write 5 events of person’s life in chronological order) Fakebook Info (30 points) Photos section(page should have pictures of two albums). July 12, 100 BCE Place of birth: Rome Italy Place of Death: Occupation: General, Dictator Death Date: March 15, 44 BCE As Caesar was cultivating his political partnership with Pompey, the astute leader was also aligning himself with Marcus Licinius Crassus, a Roman general and politician who’d served valiantly during Sulla’s rule. (c BC) Upon his return to Rome, Caesar was made dictator for life and hailed as the Father of his Country. For Caesar and his countrymen, his rule proved instrumental in reforming Rome. (c. 48 BC) Friends Caesar’s wish to include his former Roman enemies in the government helped spell his downfall. Gaius Cassius Longinus and Marcus Junius Brutus were both former enemies who’d joined the Senate. Together, the two of them led the assissination of Caesar on the Ides of March (the 15th), 44 BC. Pompey Crassus Caesar’s great-grand nephew, Gaius Octavian, assembled an army to fight back the military troops defending Cassius and Brutus. His victory over Caesars assassins allowed Octavian, who would assume the name Augustus, took power in 27 BC and became the first Roman emperor. Brutus Octavian 2
