Let’s take a moment just to remind ourselves of the context, the real reasons why policy is one of 2010’s big stories. This slide tells the story in a pretty simple way– it’s all about the spectacular growth in use of mobile broadband, pretty much everywhere. From about 100m users in 2007 to a billion by 2012, my arithmetic says that that is north of 60% growth per annum, a truly stupendous success on any measure. And just last week of course Verizon formally launched LTE, and LTE is going to continue that revolution out through the rest of this decade
