2 Logistics Dates May 6 th – May 10 th 2011 (Departure at 6 am on May 6 th, depart Quebec May 9 th 7 pm and return Colby Village May 10 between 6 and 7am.) 3 Finances Cost of trip $ 668.79 per student Price is based on 65 students, two buses, 2 drivers and 6 chaperones requiring 22 rooms and 5 days and 3 nights accommodations. Please note that the price is subject to change.

5 Outings/Meals All outings are included in price All meals included in price other than: –Sunday lunch (on the way to Quebec) –Monday lunch (student choice) –Tuesday supper (exploring in Old Quebec) –Wednesday lunch (at the mall)

7 3 Strike Rule… 1 st infraction ~ verbal reminder 2 nd infraction ~ removal of privileges 3 rd infraction ~ bonus time with your teachers!!!

8 French Only The Quebec trip meets many curricular outcomes, particularly those in French Language Arts Full immersion in French Language and Culture is the reason we are permitted to take this trip!! Students are to follow ADJH code of conduct with a few exceptions.

9 Cell Phones Permitted for safety purposes Use permitted during voyage to and from Quebec + during free time Cellular devices not permitted during whole-class activities

10 Cell Phones 1 st infraction ~ verbal reminder 2 nd infraction ~ cell phone removed for the day 3 rd infraction ~ cell phone removed for duration of trip

11 Dress Code ADJH policy in effect Dress for the weather “ugly shirts” Hats ~ OK – removal expected

12 Bus Information Depart Sunday May 6 th ~ 6 a.m. Plan arrival ~ 5:45 a.m. Students will be permitted to choose their seat mate Pack snacks!!

13 Bus Information Students can bring backpack, pillow + small blanket on the bus Electronics permitted!! –IPODs –MP3s –cell phones – portable DVD players (teachers will verify film choices)

15 Things to Bring List will be sent home closer to departure Follow Dress Code Important Items to Bring: – Back pack- Socks –Good shoes- Jacket –Umbrella - ~ $80 pocket money

16 Evening Procedures ~ 45 mins - 1 hour of “Free Time”/ night Students can mingle in hallway or in rooms with doors open. Teachers/chaperones will be present to supervise. No visiting other schools, no other schools visiting our students ~ security issue ~ 11:00 – in designated rooms for the evening

17 Night Procedures Security guard for ADJH in halls all night Students can come out and ask guard to get a teacher if there is a problem Good behavior/low volume expected throughout the night

18 Tentative Itinerary ~ Sunday Sunday morning Departure: 6 a.m. Driving ~ 11-12 hours – rest stops incl. (lunch ~ student expense) Arrive at hotel Check-in and organization Supper – Le Grand Café Guided walking Tour of Quebec Home for the night

19 Tentative Itinerary ~ Monday 7:00 a.m. – breakfast (buffet) at the hotel Assemblé Nationale Montmorency Falls park (cable car, suspension bridge) Bee Museum Lunch (student expense)

20 Tentative Itinerary ~ Monday Ste. Anne de Beaupré ~ Basilica Ste. Anne’s Canyon (waterfalls) Hotel – quick change Supper ~ Tomas Tam Restaurant (buffet) M/V Louis Jolliet Boat Cruise and dance Home for the night

21 Tentative Itinerary ~ Tuesday 7:00 a.m. – breakfast (buffet) at the hotel Sightseeing tour – Plains of Abraham, Chateau Frontenac, Place Royale etc. Traditional Huron-Wendat Village Lunch ~ L’Astral (183 meters)

22 Tentative Itinerary ~ Tuesday Photo session – Chateau Frontenac Civilisation Museum Martello Tower Supper/ Shopping ~ student expense Groups of 3-4 minimum Boundary – walls 3D film ~ Quebec history Home for the night

23 Tentative Itinerary ~ Wednesday 7:00 a.m. – breakfast (buffet) at the hotel Check out – luggage goes under the bus Treasure Hunt ~ Old Quebec Artillery Park

24 Tentative Itinerary ~ Wednesday Galleries de la Capitale ~ mall –Lunch (student expense) –Rides (included in cost) –Shopping (student choice) Cabane à Sucre –Guided tour –Process of making maple syrup (shop) –Supper and entertainment (included) Time to change into comfy clothes

25 And now the trip home…. ~ 13 hours (time difference) Arrive approx 6 - 7 a.m. Phone chain ~ announce arrival time Student pick up School????
