1 Mercer Island Boys Basketball Booster Club Youth Program Post-Selection Meeting 10/3/2010

3 Program Goals/Coaching Philosophy All kids to have fun! All kids get playing time – however, not always equal amounts Learn team basketball – Share the ball, enjoy the success of others Learn to be competitive, but keep game in perspective Develop a love for the game Develop a passion for the program - dream to play for the Varsity team

4 ECBA Training Jasen Baskett, founder of ECBA, has developed hundreds of Div-1 players and professionals Mondays, 6:00-7:30 (7 th /8 th ), 7:30-9:00 (5 th /6 th ) Skill development training – Shooting, ball handling, point guard, post, wing ETL teams only, may be expanded to Cascade $65 per month all season, tremendous value Replacement for in-season PDP (was $130 for 8 weeks)

5 Handling of Grievances Practice time, league, uniform issues should be handled through your coach and/or Sandra Ernst Parents and team managers are not to reschedule practices – contact coach

6 Handling of Grievances (contd…) For all issues relating to basketball and/or coaches, please follow these steps in order: 1.Work through issue with your team coach 2.Contact Adam Nelson, senior member of coaching staff (anelson@housinglaw.com)anelson@housinglaw.com 3.Coach Nelson will hand off to Mike Huber, MIBBBC board member 4.Mike Huber will decide if Coach Cree needs to be involved

9 Code of Conduct Remember, we are representing Mercer Island and our basketball program! No unsportsmanlike conduct from players, coaches or parents No drugs, alcohol or other substance abuse. No profanity, taunting or bullying No verbal or physical threat or abuse aimed at any player, official, coach, or parent

10 Code of Conduct (contd…) Violation implications range from ejection from game (by coach) or suspension from program Please work through “Handling of Grievances” guidelines if there are issues
