Types of Enlisted Commissioning Programs 1.Airman Scholarship and Commissioning Program (ASCP) 2.Scholarships for Outstanding Airmen to ROTC (SOAR) 3.Professional Officer Course-Early Release Program (POC-ERP) 4. Basic Officer Training (BOT) also known as Officer Training School (OTS). This program is currently on hold Selections based on AF officer production requirements.

BARKSDALE AFB BASE TRAINING AND EDUCATION SERVICES Success through bridging Education and Training Airman Scholarship and Commissioning Program (ASCP) 2 – 4 year program (waiver for 1.5 years) Those selected separate from active duty and join an AFROTC detachment A tuition/fees scholarship of up to $18,000 per year, an annual textbook allowance of $900, and a monthly stipend of $250 - $500 GRADED college work (2.50 cum GPA) If you have not earned college, then you will need ACT Score of 24 or higher / or SAT1 score of 1100 Combined Verbal and Math Meet all other scholarship requirements (age, citizenship, AFOQT, etc.) 1-year TOS / TIS (waiver able) Recommended by Squadron Commander Be under age 31 on Dec 31 of the year you will graduate and earn your commission Submission Deadline to AFROTC/RRUE -- 15 Oct Open to any major (majority awarded to tech majors) POC: TSgt David Vargas Diaz, HQ AFROTC/RRUE, DSN:493- 7008 or Via email at david.vargas_diaz.1@us.af.mil

Professional Officer Course Early Release Program (POC-ERP) NOT a scholarship program 1.5 – 2-year program Those selected separate from active duty and join and AFROTC detachment Note: Members get stipend and can use MGIB/Post 9- 11 An annual textbook allowance of $900 and a monthly stipend of $250 - $500 1 year TOS/TIG (waiverable – not guaranteed) Within 2 years of a BA/BS (hint: look for CCAF transfer-friendly schools) 2.5 cum GPA – not waiverable/If you have not earn 24 SH, then you will need 24 + ACT /Combined Verbal and Math 1100 SAT+ Must be under age 30 by application date or have obtained an age waiver (available if you can commission before age 35) Recommended by immediate Squadron Commander POC: TSgt David Vargas Diaz, HQ AFROROTC/RRUE,DSN:493-7008 or email: david.vargas_.diaz.1@us.af.mil BARKSDALE AFB BASE TRAINING AND EDUCATION SERVICES Success through bridging Education and Training

Must be under age 33 by board convening date. If you are 33, you will need an age waiver to apply, but must be commissioned by age 35 Rated applicants restricted by age 28 – (waiverable) PILOT CANDIDATE SELECTION METHOD (PCSM) scores will be required for pilot applicants The Test of Basic Aviation Skills (TBAS) is now used Can apply if 365 days away from B.S./B.A. AFOQT: Verbal 15 and Quantitative 10; There is a lot of emphasis on your GPA and AFOQT 2.5-GPA for RATED and 3.0-GPA for NON-RATED 2 program categories “Rated” and “Non-rated” with 5 subprograms: (1) Rated-Pilot, (2) Navigator and (3)Air Battle Management subprograms; and Non-rated (3) Technical and Non-technical subprograms. Computer Engineering (ABET Accredited) Electrical Engineering (ABET Accredited) Electronic Engineering (ABET Accredited) Math/Physics/Chemistry/Architecture Non-Rated: all other majors FY 2014 OTS Boards have been suspend indefinitely.

BARKSDALE AFB BASE TRAINING AND EDUCATION SERVICES Success through bridging Education and Training Nurse Education Commissioning Program (NECP) Must have completed 59 semester hours of graded college coursework from a regionally accredited college or university Applicants must have completed the following courses (part of the above mentioned 59 hours): general psychology anatomy and physiology I & II (labs required) microbiology (lab required) chemistry I & II (labs required) nutrition statistics Any of the above mentioned coursework will be accepted as a CLEP with the exception of labs GPA 2.75 POC: sandra.bruce.1@us.mil

Accreditation ensures the quality of the postsecondary education students receive. BARKSDALE AFB BASE TRAINING AND EDUCATION SERVICES Success through bridging Education and Training (USAFA) & Prep School U.S. Air Force Academy To compete for either program, the applicant must complete AF Form 1786 and letter of recommendation with their commanders endorsementAF Form 1786 Submit the form and recommendation through MPF for coordination Forward it to: Office of Admissions HQ USAFA/RRS 2304 Cadet Drive, Suite 200 USAF Academy, CO 80840-5025 The form must arrive no later than January 31 for the class entering the following June. MSCs work in various capacities in clinics, hospitals, major commands, Air Staff and the DOD enabling health care providers to provide the highest quality health care for our patients Education: Graduate Degrees: Health Care Administration, Hospital Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, Business Management, Information Systems Management, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Marketing, Economics GRE/GMAT scores from an examination taken within the last 5 years are required for all applicants Undergraduate Degrees: Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Economics, Finance, Health Care Administration, Marketing, Business Management, Public Administration, Clinical or Health Systems 3.0 GPA Member must be able to serve 20 years of commissioned service before the first day of the month subsequent to their 62 nd birthday Time-in-Service: Eligible to apply with fewer than 8 years TIS by 1 Jan of the accession year (year you are commissioned into MSC). Applicants must be on active duty in grades E-3-E-8 with minimum of 2 years active duty service and less than 14 years active military service (waiver letters are allowed for exceptional applicants) ASVAB or AFCT – General Score minimum of 80 points (waiver letters are allowed for exceptional applicants) Scholastic requirements: SAT within 4-years of the board date (Reasoning Test scores must be 450 and a composite score of no less than 1425) – waiver letters are allowed for exceptional applicants 60 hours of transferable college credit and a GPA of 2.5 or higher 3.0 GPA in Math and Science required courses (Chemistry, Anatomy & Physiology, Algebra, Biology) Minimum of 30 semester hours must be actual in-classroom study from an accredited college 30 semester hours can be from one or more of the following: DANTES, CLEP, USAFI Correspondence Crs, end-of-course tests, or specific subject examinations Correspondence work, off-campus classroom study, or resident course programs CCAF credit for in-residence, technical training credits are acceptable for in-classroom credit for application Mandatory College courses for acceptance General/Organic/Bio Chemistry with lab (8 hours) - cannot CLEP Anatomy & Physiology with lab (8 hours) - cannot CLEP College Algebra – cannot CLEP Biology with lab (4 hours) – cannot CLEP Social Sciences (6 hours) – may CLEP English (6 hours) – May CLEP 3 hours Psychology (3 hours) – cannot CLEP BARKSDALE BASE TRAINING AND EDUCATION SERVICES Success through bridging Education and Training Physician Assistant (PA)

Upon graduation of PHASE I, will receive a BS and after PHASE II will attain a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS). BARKSDALE BASE TRAINING AND EDUCATION SERVICES Success through bridging Education and Training Program is on HOLD Air Force Educational Leave of Absence (AFELA ) AFELA is NOT a commissioning program Not available for Distance Learning Only used when an individual has completed as much as possible of a program at present duty location; Max 2 calendar years Must have at least 1 term of enlistment and have reenlisted Individuals must have agreed to serve a period equal to 2 months for 1 month commitment in addition to any other commitments Individuals must carry the minimum institution full-time hours Member’s unit will not receive a work replacement Individual receives basic pay only, no BAH/BAS or any other pay Must pay rent if living on base or must move off base Tuition Assistance can’t be used, but may use MGIB, PELL Grant, or loans Individuals may not begin AFELA within 12 months of completing any previous AFELA or education deferment AFELA has been suspended. S Success through bridging Education and Training Allows members to complete an associate degree or higher in 1 year or less through off-duty education at their current base Members remain at their unit and take courses during off-duty Individuals must have completed their 1st term of service or have a 6 year obligated period of service Must be pursuing a higher degree than currently held, unless directly applicable to AFSC & AF needs Cannot be used for the purpose of completing a thesis or research paper Cannot have consecutive or subsequent deferments within 12 months from a previous deferment or AFELA Cannot be used if stationed overseas BARKSDALE BASE TRAINING AND EDUCATION SERVICES Educational Deferment
