8 Priorities £43 million budget cuts 2011/12 £40 million in divestment by 1 st April 2013

9 Our Response

10 Divestment – why do it? 1.Reduce the overheads of being a large organisation 2.To change the identity of the Council from service provider to community leader, consumer advocate, market maker 3.To create more localised and joined up services 4.To hand back responsibilities to our residents, customers and communities 5.To unlock the creativity of our staff to co-create different services with our communities 6.To create an economically more efficient model for assessing value by financially empowering users and paying by results

11 Benefits of Social Enterprise Social enterprises build communities of interest around their business like approaches to tackling social and environmental issues They contribute to the economic and social growth of the county including job creation and levering external funds They seek to make a financial surplus and reinvest in local benefits As viable businesses they interact with the wider economy and society in a sustainable way and shape these
