The Business School will be distinctive for its strong business engagement, focussing on knowledge exchange and employability for students.

4 Achieve close integration of the teaching and research activities of the University, county-wide business services and the economic development activities of GFirst LEP. Provide a complete range of services for business which are better integrated and easier to access. Create a high quality, business-friendly physical environment for the co- location of the University business team, the GFirst LEP, business- engaged academics and complementary external business support activities. Create a stronger flow of high-skill talent and enterprise into the Gloucestershire economy. Growth Hub Objectives

5 Give University students better support to gain graduate jobs in businesses of all sizes across Gloucestershire or help to set up their own businesses. Ensure that the University is industry informed, so that courses are developed to reflect industry priorities, and research activities are informed by business need. Create a culture and way of working that is employer led, innovative and enterprising. Demonstrate how a University can work in a closely-integrated way with a Local Enterprise Partnership to drive economic growth. Growth Hub Objectives

6 Financial Support £2.7M HEFCE Catalyst Fund to support the first phase delivery of business services and integration of the Business School £4.3M matched and private funding ‘an innovative example of a University working with its LEP and local business to promote economic development.' HEFCE The Growth Hub is one of 3 flagship projects in the LEP’s Strategic Economic Plan for the period 2014 – 2020. Further investment is being sought through the LEP’s bid to EU Structural Investment Fund & Single Local Growth Fund
