Preliminary work A litle delay due to tools preparation A long list of tasks – Restart the system as it was in NA48 (two racks only) – Rewire the Fastbus branches for the expected configuration – Test the 2012 configuration – Install the new trigger system: TELL1 + TALK – Run the new configuration Adjust the timing – In parallel, new version of the SLM readout software Event format Zero suppression Addition of time stamps to the events I/F with Control Program and L1/L2 software Resume NA48 calibration software
Calibration system Calibration system refurbishment – Expected to have a new hardware TALK board + VME I/O registers – Possibility to test already (partial/total) the new system in the dry run Interferences with the old driving software Done if there is some spare time Few connector adapters needed The most likely option is to test the TALK board to generate the pulse sequence and move the DAC/pulser control to VME later
Run goals Main goals – Validate zero suppression algorithms in SLM PCs Migrate to CREAMs – Study the effects of an intense beam Space charge effects in the hot spot Use possibly a downscaled photon trigger Resurrect neutral hodoscope? – Prepare monitor and calibration tools
