Robert Moton Elementary School and William Fischer Elementary School were two of the state's top 10 most- improved schools over the past five years. School performance scores increased significantly from 1999 to 2004, according to the state School and District Accountability Commission. Scores are based on tests, attendance and dropout rates. No junior high or high schools made the list. Moton Elementary raised its score from 25 during the 1998- 1999 school year to 107.9 last year. Fischer Elementary raised its score from 14.1 during the 1998-99 school year to 71.6 last year.
