Our native town is Ozyorsk. Our native town is Ozyorsk. The first names of our town were Darkemen and Angherapp. In the 13th century the German knights-crossers appeared on the Prussian lands. 4 On the emblem of Darkemen one can see a black eagle on the background of three silver hills. Our town is situated between three hills on the both banks of the Angrapa river.

In the 18th century Darkemen became one of the most developed towns of the region. The bridge spanning both sides of the river, the mill and even the electric power station were built here. The town was famous by its horse yards.

The town survived the First World War and the Second World War. There is a stone monument near the church which remembers us about it.

2004 1842 The town wasn’t greatly destroyed during the two world wars but the time has made the cruel destructions. Our beautiful cathedral, a real masterpiece of the Gothic architecture is in ruins now.

The Second World War changed the history of the town greatly. As well as the whole part of the region the town was joined to the Soviet Union and got the new name of Ozyorsk.

The streets of our town reflect its past: the tremendous view of the German cathedral, pretty houses with red tiled roofs built in the German style, beautiful mansions and pavements made of bricks.

Our town is tiny but cozy.It is well–planned.Victory Square is in the very centre of the town.It is surrounded by a great number of small pretty private shops. At the top of the square there is an agricultural technical school. It has a great campus. A large school is in the centre of the town, too. We have only one school and two nurseries in our town, because the population of it is rather small, about a thousand people.

To the left of the square there is a great grave of the Soviet soldiers killed during the Second World War and an Eternal Flame.

I believe it’ll become more beautiful. Our town is a very quiet place and it is good to live here. I adore my home town.

I like my town in spring when all the trees are in blossom, our town is full of orchards and gardens and there are a lot of trees in the streets. I like my town in spring when all the trees are in blossom, our town is full of orchards and gardens and there are a lot of trees in the streets.
