8 National Disasters  The Great Flood of Mississippi River pours out into Arkansas Great Lakes, 100 people died.  St. Valentine's Day Massacre- On the morning of St. Valentine's Day in 1929, seven men were gunned down in cold blood in a garage in Chicago. The massacre, orchestrated by Al Capone, shocked the nation by its brutality and made Capone a national celebrity.
