What is Ultrasound? Acoustic vibrations that are obtained thru the vibration of plates. This vibration releases acoustic waves called Ultrasound waves. Ultrasound waves penetrate tissue and meet resistance losing energy on the way. This resistance is called attenuation. Higher the frequency of the wave, bigger the resistance or attenuation. This attenuation means heat.
