Greasy food stains Ink/marker/pen Motor oil Grass Spaghetti / pasta sauce “Which stains do you find most difficult to get off the clothes?” (Up to 5 answers) - % respondents Soils on cuffs and collars Red wine Sweat/ perspiration This survey was done by Novozymes across Germany, Spain, and the US The results clearly showed greasy food stains are the top concern across countries (consumers agreed on this regardless of country) As greasy food stains among others are frequently experienced stains that are also difficult to remove, it means that this is today in fact an unmeet performance demand as current detergents apparently do not clean these efficiently (otherwise, they would not be mentioned as troublesome and frequent = something you as a consumer notice) Storyline Lipases like Lipoclean have the ability to work on sebum (sweat stains and soils on cuffs and collars) and greasy food stains In principle, Lipases can remove the stains in the white bubbles, which are the most difficult and frequent stains to clean However, lipases also work on other stains like butter et cetera (these are in gray) A multienzyme solution would obviously work on even more of the listed stains NOTE: Lipase sensitivity on make-up is very substrate/make-up dependent Chocolate Fruit juices Make-up / cosmetics Dirt/ mud Coffee Butter Curry stains Baby food “Which stains do you experience most frequently?” (Up to 5 answers) - % respondents Source: Novozymes consumer survey – 1,064 consumers in Germany, Spain, and US Europe/US

4/14/2017 NOVOZYMES PRESENTATION Stain removal through bioinnovation Detergent enzymes are designed to penetrate fabric layers to remove a variety of stains Enzymes degrade stains into smaller, more water-soluble parts that can be removed more easily during washing Our solutions take stain removal one step further than bleaching agents because rather than just covering up stains; they actually degrade them If stains remain on clothes, the residues of these stains may act as a kind of glue and attract soil particles in the wash water, resulting in fabric graying and dirty clothes
