3 Description;; Length; 9 meters Height; 12 ft tall to the shoulders Weight; males: 12,000 -females; 7,000 Colors and markings; gray

4 Habitat;; Mostly found in Africa In dry, rainy, hot places. Shelter: mostly by trees

5 Diet;; Grasses, leaves, Bamboo, bark, & roots

6 Family life;; Offspring: -1 born at a time; sometimes twins. -Gestation: 22 months -Time: rainy season -Care: about 6 years

7 Social Behavior;; Communication; -They communicate by blowing a trumpet like noise through there trunk.

8 Characteristics;; Habitats & unique behavior: -they live in large herds, Very smart animals. Defenses: Uses its tusks and truck to grip and move things, also good for blocking. Acquiring food: They pick up food by there trunks and lift it to their mouth. Life span: up to 70 years.

9 History & relations to humans;; They first came from the ice age when wooly mammoths. When dwarf sized mammoths formed. Relation: They are trained to perform, and they also help carry heavy loads for people.

10 Other;; Baby elephants suck there trunks for comfort just like human baby sucks there thumbs.
