Agenda: 1. Hardware Security and Storage 2. Acceptable Use 3. Anti-virus protection 4. Communication
45
Hardware Security & Storage No leaving laptops just sitting “outside” –around campus- unattended Record all of the identification numbers for your system and keep them in a safe location Label all components of your laptop system with your child’s name – be prepared to re-mark throughout the year Variety of sturdy, padded bags available Backpacks w/ computer sleeve, etc.
46
Hardware Security & Storage Warranty vs. Insurance Warranty is a guarantee to repair parts that break down during normal wear and use Insurance covers the computer in the event it is stolen, suffers breakage, or vandalism
47
Acceptable Use The laptop must be here everyday-with all of its components (ie: USB, power cord, flashdrive, etc.) Printing: some assignments must be printed before class Printing available in the LMC Computer must be in DRESS CODE
48
Anti-Virus Protection Anti-Virus is REQUIRED CUSD requires all computers logged on the network to have up- to-date anti-virus software installed and running on the systems Scan the hard drive and update regularly The program can only protect the computer if it is up-to-date and checking the system If viruses can not be removed by the program, the computer can be sent to the Tech for cleaning
49
Communication CNEC Website http://cnec.cusd.com http://cnec.cusd.com School Schedules Whole school events and concerns Teacher Websites & Zangle Parent Connect EdModo, Moodle, Google Homework downloads Calendars & assignments Curriculum Expectations E-mail – the VERY BEST way to connect with our staff! teachersname@cusd.com District support 327-9595
