1 2012 Kitsap Homeless Point-In-Time Count Results

2 2010 Homeless Point-In-Time Count Annual Homeless Count mandated by 2006 WA Homelessness Housing & Assistance Act (ESSHB 2163) Required for some state & federal funding The count is a snapshot of homelessness at a specific point in time, not reflective of the total number of homeless. Statewide 24-hour Count was January 26 th – 27th This year’s information shows a 40% reduction, compared to the 2006 Count Benchmark for the 10-year goal to reduce homelessness by 50%. Over 20 Kitsap social service agencies assisted with Count plus many individual volunteers.

7 2012 Count: Current Living Situation 416 or 80% in shelter or temporary housing 107 or 20% in conditions not meant for habitation

8 2012 Count: Sources of Income 57% have some Type of regular Income.

9 2012 Count: Disabilities 34% have physical/chronic health or mental health issues

10 2012 Count: Causes of Homelessness % unstable family situation % job reasons % homeless Because of Housing situation
