4 MEAP/MME Assessment Timeline MEAP/MME Assessment Timeline 2011-12 – MEAP & MME will remain the same, based on GLCEs & HSCEs 2012 and 2013 – Items that are common to the GLCEs & HSCEs AND the CCSS will be assessed. Piloted items for CCSS will start Fall 2014 – so far, no assessment to take place until spring 2015 (TBA) 2014 -2015 – spring 2015 – CCSS assessments begin

8 Go to the following site: Item Specifics – go to the page – All items we just went through on the handouts are included on this page of the Smarter Balanced Website: www.smarterbalanced.org/smarter-balanced- assessments Practice and Pilot Tests – go to the page – http://www.smarterbalanced.org/pilot-test/ Select the grade level you plan to practice. Take about 10 minutes to review items. As you review items ask yourself the following: How would my students do on this assessment? What tools do I need to make this happen for them? How do I prepare myself to guide my students to be successful?
