3. James Cameron presentation James Francis Cameron is a director, a scriptwriter and a Canadian producer been born on August 16th, 1954 to Kapuskasing (Ontario, Canada). James Cameron, son of Phillip, an electric engineer, and Shirley, an artist, was born and crossed his childhood in Canada, near Niagara Falls. In 1971, he moves to Brea (California, the United States), where he will be awarded a diploma by physical appearance to the California State University. But his first jobs will be a mechanic and a truck driver because he feeds quite other ambition: the cinema. His first short film: Xenogenesis, is financed by dentists' consortium. He presides then as director, producer, co-writer, fitter, chief cameraman, model maker and superintendent of the special effects. This experience allows him to point out in 1980 by Roger Corman who engages him in the company New World Picture.

4. TITANIC (1998) The idea made its road, and it gets down to realize what will turn out to be the film of all the excesses. Coproduced by two studios " enemy brothers ", 20th Century Fox and Paramount, the film, budgeted in 150 million dollars, will cost finally more than 200, a new record, is more than the price which had cost the manufacturing of Titanic at the appropriate time. The passenger ship is reconstructed almost as before, we sayThat the caviar in plates was true. James Cameron will moreover be obliged to sacrifice his director's salary and his profit-sharing to receipts to prove his faith in the project. Finally, Titanic will be the biggest success of the history of the cinema with more than 1,8 billion dollars of receipts and the director will be widely rewarded for it, financially at first, but also by eleven Oscars among which three for himself.

AVATAR (2009) In 2009, he realizes the most expensive new film of the history, Adversity, based on a scenario which he had written at the beginning of 1990s, but which he did not have been able to turn for technical reasons. The film goes out on December 16th, 2009 in France. Twelve years later Titanic, Adversity is a new major success for the director. James Cameron works at the moment on an adaptation of the first nine volumes of the manga Gunnm (Battle Angel in English), under the shape of a trilogy. These films will be turned in three dimensions thanks to the technologies which Cameron has already experimented on The Ghosts du Titanic. Other interesting detail, the heroine of the history (Gally) will be a character completely in computer generated images.
