1. Especially bigger companies face the problem that they can’t inform all their employees effectively and in time. There are some (old) ways to solve this problem (e.g. black-boards) with fact sheets or even with chalk. A modern approach is to project actual and digitalized information onto a wall or alternatively to use wide-screen televisions. This project is about combining technical facilities with effective information management.

Technical challenges Logistic challenges Use of existing network infrastructure based on TCP/IP Webbased, decentralized input of data Centralized Storing and processing of these data on a webserver (Apache) with a database (MySql) HTML and JavaScript driven output with a customized browser Remote Managing of the server by e.g. NetOp or VNC Timing and arranging of various output-formats (actual information, presentations, clips, TV) by means of a customized program The best info-system is worthless if the underlying information management and data flow does not work. Important preconditions: The system must be as simple as possible Nice and solid design, logical sections of the screen must be clearly arranged Responsibilities and flow of information must be organized by the management Which information should when be presented? Who is allowed to post information?

Possible areas of application Companies with a certain number of employees Educational establishments (schools) Places where people have to wait Shops, leisure parks, convention centers etc. Underlying philosophy The application and combination of appropriate technology is a special challenge especially for students at AHS (allgemeinbild. höhere Schule) The crucial point is the use and acceptance of this IT system which can be considered as a good example for the digitalization and acceleration of our society. To make feasible the preprocessing of data and to provide special target groups with information in form of a „push technology“ is the main goal of this project
