F-Class Stars “Oh, be a fine girl, kiss me right now.” The aforementioned is the easy mnemonic by which to remember spectral classes. (The first letter in each word is a spectral class; therefore, fine represents F- Class stars.) F-Class stars are yellow-white. These stars are hotter than Earth’s sun. The temperature of these stars are 6,000-7,500 K. Further divisions are 0-9 (hotter to cooler) and I-V (luminosity, supergiants to dwarfs). F-Class stars can be 0 (hypergiants), I (supergiants), II (bright giants), III (normal giants), IV (subgiants), V (main sequence) and VI (subdwarfs). This slide shows lists 24, F-Class stars.
