3 The State of the Club 2012-13  Net Membership Growth:99 to 104  Attendance for the Year:80% avg.  Generous Membership: Polio Plus Giving:$15,210 Annual Fund:$10,100 Global Grant:$ 3,000

4 What Did We Do in 2012-2013?  Grew the Flag Program by inviting LeTourneau student groups to take 14 routes of 424 flags  Moved the flag barn to its new location  Moved meeting venue to new location at First Baptist Church  Completed all requirements for club qualification to receive RI Grants  Wrote grant and received district funding for 2013-14 Club Project  Increased local scholarships from $7000 to $11,000  Sponsored charter of Rotaract Club at LeTourneau University  Continued these programs with success: Teacher and Student of the Month Recognition, Citizen of the Year Honor, Thanksgiving Food Drive, Clean Up Longview, Salvation Army Bell Ringing, Industry Tour, Interact Club Sponsorship, Boy Scout Troop Sponsorship, Toys for Tots, Showed Mercy by not Entering the Spelling Bee

5 What Are We Doing in 2013-2014 ? Club Administration:Scott Novy  Average weekly attendance of 85%  Continue great Socials  Continue great Programs  Move forward with Public Relations and Fundraising Directors  Continue to be a inviting and welcoming club to all Guests and Members

6 What are We Doing in 2013 –2014? Membership:Patricia Newman  Net gain of 5 new members – 109 total  Increase diversity in membership, age, race and gender  Classification talks by current members  Get to know each other and develop relationships

Service Projects:Dietrich Johnson  Actively support current club service projects  Implement grant application program to support community projects  Resume Dictionary Project for LISD 3 rd graders  Support and grow LETU Rotaract Club  Continue support of Interact Club  Work with Partners in Prevention Mentoring Program

8 What are We Doing in 2013 – 2014? Foundation:Joel Johnson  Continue support of Polio Plus  Encourage club members to attain Paul Harris Fellow status  Encourage giving to the annual fund  Continue support of Africa 180  Support Partners in Prevention Mentoring Program  Apply for grants

9 What are We Doing in 2013 – 2014? Endowment:Kelynn Drayer  Continue good stewardship of endowment funds of the Rotary Club of Longview Club  Continue emphasis on scholarships

10 Partners in Prevention  Goal –add 8 new club members as mentors  Mentoring Program served 174 children in 2012- 13 school year, waiting list  A major focus is encouraging young people to stay in school and develop their “future story”  Requires training and meeting with mentee 1 day per week with optional activities available  Budget – Received $3400 in District funds, $3400 in matching club funds, and an extra $3200 in club funds for total of $10,000

11 Benefits of PIP Mentoring Project  Our participation and funds will: Develop new mentor recruitment brochures, billboards bearing Rotary logo and club’s name Provide mentor training manuals for new mentors Contract staff support to match at least 20 new students with trained, screened adult mentors Offer enrichment events and field trips for mentees Secure renewal for user license of mentoring database Our club liaison will attend monthly Mentoring Advisory Council meetings and report back to club

12 In Summary  Continue to be an active, generous club  Work closely with Partners in Prevention  Recruit new members and retain current members  Increase visibility in Longview  Continue to help improve the quality of lives locally and globally  Continue to be the best Rotary Club in Longview!
