2  A Web Portal recognized as the authoritative source for national interagency wildland fire information is needed to effectively communicate information about standards and guidelines, workforce development, communications, fire policy, program implementation and incident operations.

3  NWCG Strategic Plan, V14, dated September 15, 2010:  NWCG mission – to provide national leadership and establish, implement, maintain and communicate policy, standards, and guidelines for wildland fire program management.

4  This project supports the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Open Government Directive, M-1-06, dated December 8, 2009 by ensuring active participation and collaboration between stakeholders to identify the NWCG Web Portal infrastructure and information that will be provided to internal and external audiences about NWCG activities.

5 Implement one coherent system that allows for consistent delivery and maintenance of vital communications, while allowing NWCG units/programs autonomy.  Develop a new Web Portal that serves the national interagency wildland fire community.
