3 2 The Oral Panel Interview  Third & final step in examination process Candidate invited only if passed written exam  Structured format of technical questions  Approximately 15 minutes with panel of technical experts - Application - Met minimum requirements - Written Exam - Passed with a score of 70% or better. Oral Interview Pass with a score of 70% of better.

4 3 Preparation Before the Interview  Study the Job Description. Questions based on duties and requirements of the position  Be prepared and anticipate possible questions Identify your strengths

5 4 Preparation Before the Interview  Practice interviewing  Pick out your clothes the night before Dress professionally for the position  Get plenty of rest the night before the interview.

6 5 Day of the Interview  Arrive on time.  Check in first with the Personnel Commission Office at: 2335 Plaza del Amo Torrance, CA 90509  Bring picture I.D.  Turn off your cell phone, pager or any other electronic devices

7 6 During the Interview  Listen carefully to each question  Give thorough and concise answers  Make eye contact  Try to relax and not be nervous

8 7 After the Interview  Receive results of examination process by mail  If pass oral exam with score of 70% or above, receive your rank notice on the eligibility list Rank based upon final score Eligibility list used to fill positions of that job title
