2 MAIN OBJECTIVE :  To Help the farming community by reducing the number of manual labourers required for performing the operation.  Should be farmer friendly.  Should be affordable.  Highly Durable.

3 ABSTRACT:  A Tractor operated Telescopic pipe sprayer is an existing project, which led  The operator can use the telescopic pipe sprayer only for a short duration.  Hence we are introducing TRACTOR OPERATED COCONUT TREE to an inactive condition when operator fail to operate the machine. Since, the spray solution is not able to reach the desired target through the SPRAYER, so that with the aid of a remote from ground level the height of the tarpaulin tube can be adjusted/locked at any desired level, which helps the spray solution to reach the desired target in the canopy. telescopic pipe.

5 SPRAYERS-IN GENERAL  Insects and weeds are largely responsible for the crop destruction. In modern horticulture and agriculture, insecticides/pesticides, a man made or natural preparation are used to kill insects or otherwise control their reproduction. These herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers are applied to agricultural crops with the help of a special device known as a "Sprayer.“  Based on the concept of high pressure, sprayer provides optimum performance with minimum efforts.  The invention of a sprayer, pesticides, fertilizers, bring revolution in the agriculture/horticulture sector.  Especially the invention of sprayers, enable farmers to obtain maximum agricultural output. They are used for garden spraying, weed/pest control, liquid fertilizing and plant leaf polishing. It is available in man-portable units, self- propelled units to boom mounts of feet in length.

6 TYPES OF SPRAYER: 1.Rocker sprayer 2. Foot sprayer 3. Hand Rotary sprayer 4. Hand sprayer 5. Battery sprayer 6. Power sprayer

7 Rocker sprayer: Rocker sprayers are ideal for spraying on plantations and farms. These sprayers are more suitable for spraying on field crops, cashew nuts and gardens. Operation: To & fro action by Hand. Advantages :  Stable performance and reliable.  More efficient.  Easy mobility. Disadvantages:  Capable of throwing chemicals only upto a height of 10ft.  Less pressure is used.

8 FOOT SPRAYER : Foot sprayers are ideal for spraying on plantations and farms in hilly terrain. Operation: To & fro action by Hand. Advantages :  Used for spraying field crops, orchards, tea, coffee, rubber estates, apple, cashew nuts  Develops lbs pressure Disadvantages:  Time consumption is more.  Operating time is less.

9 HAND ROTARY DUSTER :  Hand Rotary Duster runs on either ball or bush bearings.  These Rotary dusters are useful for continuous treatment of medium and smallholdings of cereals, pulses, groundnut, cotton, tobacco, potato, and vegetable crops. Advantages:  Economic & effective  To control pests and diseases in field crops, plantations Disadvantages:  Throws homogenous cloud of dust on field.  Cause of highly non-curable diseases.

10 HAND SPRAYER :  Hand sprayer is mainly used for spraying coconut trees.  The workers engaged in spraying have to climb on the top of the crown and direct the spraying on the bunches so that the drift and fall out of the acaricides can be reduced to the minimum.  Before spraying, the one has to climb over the top and should clean the crown. Advantages :  Spray solution required is less than 500ml. Disadvantages:  Highly dangerous.  Less stable.  Can spray only 2 to 3 trees in a hour.

11 BATTERY SPRAYER : The Battery Sprayers make use of technology to provide relief to farmers. This sprayer is provided with a rechargeable battery instead of the conventional handle-lever system. The sprayer requires minimum effort and generates high pressure. This electric sprayer working with individual or triple nozzles Features:  Stable performance and reliable  Long working time:  Simple Operation: automatic turn on/off the motor by just switching on/off the trigger.  Energy Saving: driven by rechargeable battery. the rechargeable battery could continue working for 3-4 hours.

12 POWER SPRAYER : These Motorized Power Sprayers are most suitable for row & ground crops like cotton, soya bean, all types of vegetables, tea & coffee plantations. The Spray quality is equivalent to spray quality of HTP power sprayer. Ideal for spraying in hilly terrain. Features:  Tank capacity 25 lit.  fuel tank 0.6 lit.  Sturdy plastic back rest & frame.  Back cushion & shoulder strap cushion Wider shoulder strap for operator’s comfort.

13 WORKING OPERATION: The unit consists of an iron frame stand where a Tarpaulin material tube of 8m is placed. The spray fluid from the chemical tank is sucked by the pressurized air and delivered to the nozzle through valves with the help of tractor compressor. At the top of the 8m Tarpaulin tube, the nozzle is hinged so that they can be moved up and down by the control of a remote from ground level by using a 3/2 Solenoid valve(control valve).The pressure from the tractor compressor is used as the inlet pressure and it is given to the tarpaulin tube which enables one to reach the desired target in the canopy. The height of the tube can be locked at any desired level above 6-8 meter height. A Pressure liquid tank of (____) capacity is mounted in the frame to store the compressed air and spray fluid. A d.c motor with chain drive, spur gear is used to raise the spray tube from ground level. The pressure switch is connected to the driving motor and is set such that it automatically trips off, disconnecting the electrical connection to the motor as soon as the receiver achieves the desired set pressure. The safety valve is set to the same pressure limit and in case of the pressure exceeds this limit, the excess pressure can be exhausted to the atmosphere, thus limiting the system pressure to the desired level. When air is compressed, considerable heat is generated, this heat must be dissipated at least in units, where pressure exceeds 2 bar. The main machine is cooled by air circulation on water circulation.

14 SPRAYER FOR COCONUT TREES DEVELOPED BY T AMIL N ADU A GRICULTURAL U NIVERSITY. COIMBATORE  The unit has a telescopic (62 and 37 mm ) G.I. pipes which can extend from 9 m to 14 m height by winding a cable. At the base of the frame, a 200 lit capacity chemical tank is mounted.  The commercially available ASPEE triplex reciprocating pump is mounted on a base plate near the PTO shaft of the tractor.  These features of the sprayer ensure that the entire canopy area of the tree is easily sprayed.  Cost of the unit :Rs.45,000/-

17 Conclusion A coconut Tree Sprayer is a device that would be a significant innovation for many people. It will help the farmers to Spray the chemical from the ground level and can be operated by both men and women. It will foster not only a love for engineering, designing, and inventing, but also a feeling of pride and accomplishment in helping people that live in coconut-harvesting countries
