1 Parish Forum Satisfaction Survey May 2008 Results Lisa Clarke Research & Consultation Officer 5 th November 2008

2 Summary 80% overall satisfaction with the forum Generally forum meets needs of parish councils Group work received well Attendance, agenda items and communication key issues.

3 Representation & Attendance 3 parishes have never replied to the survey 6 parishes have not attended a forum meeting in last 12 months ACTION  Cllr Colin Ablitt is attending parish council meetings to promote attendance and understand issues which may affect this.  Representatives with more than one title to sign in using most appropriate for that meeting.  Everyone sign in at meetings.

4 Agenda Development The Topic of agenda items is most important Focus on a few key topics Mixture of current and ongoing items Led by parish council issues BUT feedback by district & county on community issues ACTION The Parish Forum selected the 5 top parish priorities to cover at the forum Cllr Ablitt and Steve McQuade to receive all requests to present at the forum to ensure topics meet requirements Agendas continue to be circulated in advance of meetings

5 Improve Communications Sharing information about community issues from district to parish Feedback from parishes Best way to develop communication both at the forum and in general correspondance ACTION Cllr Ablitt attending parish council meetings to understand what would be the ideal Continue to effectively share best practice at Forum meetings which has been well received. The Satisfaction Survey 2009 will test the success of these actions
