4 Why are CLAs important? Give states and chapters structure and resources around areas of focus important to the profession and to SHRM SHRM recommends that each state have a director for each CLA and encourages chapters to do the same

5 Certification as a CLA Your role as Director for Certification is important to our profession! Awareness Action Advocacy

6 Certification as a CLA Raise awareness around importance of being certified in HR to HR professionals and business leaders; awareness of requirements to become certified Take action to promote availability of programs to prepare for certification; work with chapter chairs to educate members and initiate study groups; promote the use of the SHRM Learning System Advocate for raising the level of professionalism in your state or chapter by becoming certified
