Summary Mortimer (aka Mo) raises his 13 year old daughter Meggie alone after the disappearance of his wife Resa. He makes a living as a book restorer and travels around with Meggie to find an old book called Inkheart. When they are approached by a flamboyant pyro loving man called Dustfinger, Meggie hears him call her father “Silvertounge”. Meggie discovers later that Mo (that’s what she calls him) has the ability of bringing characters out of the books he reads into the real world. They end up having Dustfinger tag along as they head to Italy to Meggie’s aunt Eleanor's house, where the man Capricorn abducts them with the intention of forcing Mo to bring the his powerful Shadow minion to Earth. Will Capricorn succeed in getting his Shadow out of Inkheart and take over the world? You have to read the book to find out. ;]
Rating All in all I would give this book a 4 out of 5 stars. Inkheart is obviously full of fiction and that’s what makes it a great read. You can never know what’s going to happen next because anything could happen. The characters are fun but the only problem I have is that there are a lot and are hard to keep track of. Other than that this book is an easy read and I would suggest it to any one who wants to get whisked off their feet into a far away magical land.
