2 The Three Towns Healthy Living Community Project Board Set up in January 2000 Representation from Social Work, Community School/Education, North Ayrshire Council, Voluntary Groups, Community Representatives, Local Health Council, Developing North Ayrshire, Cunninghame Housing Association, Health Board, MP’s, MSP’s, the LHCC and the Trust

3 The Three Towns Healthy Living Community Aims of Partnership Working – an Integrated Approach Tackling health inequalities Addressing social inequalities Improving life circumstances Recognising gaps in existing services and implementing appropriate responses to reduce/meet these gaps

4 The Three Towns Healthy Living Community Benefits of Partnership Working Experience of partners e.g. Pathfinder Project, Radio City Bid Avoiding duplication Realistic acceptance of only one HLC bid being approved for any area

5 The Three Towns Healthy Living Community Community Involvement Initial public consultation in relation to Resource Centre in Stevenston Community Representatives on Project Board for HLC Various household surveys Specifically commissioned needs assessment of the area Seminar for special interest groups – Jan 2001

7 The Three Towns Healthy Living Community Vision “This initiative promotes the concept of a Three Towns Healthy Living Community which will create a network of healthy living initiatives to promote social well-being based on the principles of community participation and social inclusion. The initiative will improve access to and the co-ordination and integration of existing services and will also develop new services through partnership working.”

8 The Three Towns Healthy Living Community Strategic Objectives To develop a co-ordinated network of initiatives operating across the life span of Three Towns residents To promote seamlessness in participation for individuals across agency and traditional boundaries To provide a co-ordinated mechanism for both the recognition of gaps in local existing services and appropriate responses to reduce these gaps

9 The Three Towns Healthy Living Community Development of Model of Service Delivery Three hubs and one theme viz…. HUBS Three Towns Resource Centre, Stevenston Child and Family Centre, Ardrossan Canal Court, Older Person Centre, Saltcoats NB Including Outreach Services THEME Volunteering

10 The Three Towns Healthy Living Community Success At the end of October 2001, we were advised by NOF that we had been granted £990,292.00 ! Over 5 years
