5 5 S2-08356223.402 CR0174R1: Clarifications on the information provided by ANDSF Motorola, InterDigital Summary of change: With the proposed changes it is clarified that: - The ANDSF can provide (i) inter-system mobility policies and (ii) information about neighbor access networks (access discovery info) - These two pieces of information are independent: It is possible for the ANDSF to provide only inter-system mobility policies and no access network discovery information (or, vice versa) - The access discovery info is used for providing information about available access networks but not for selecting an access network (selection is done only through policies). - The inter-system mobility policies provide a) rules to indicate when inter-system mobility is restricted and b) rules used by the UE to select the most preferable access network. The rules for access network selection can be used to enable network steering of UE access, as per current requirements in TS 22.278. S2-08356323.402 CR0175R1: ANDSF - Removal of editor's note about privacy Motorola, InterDigital Summary of change: Removal of the editor's note stating that privacy issues raised by the inclusion of UE's location in the Access Network Info Request are FFS. S2-08356423.402 CR0215R1: Update of general principles for WiMAX network-controlled dual radio handover MotorolaSummary of change: A set of principles are added for network-controlled dual radio handover between 3GPP accesses and mobile WiMAX in order to align it with the general principles and concepts in clause 4.8. Several clarifications are also provided which are applicable to the specific case of WiMAX/3GPP dual radio handover. S2-08362223.402 CR0308: ANDSF Discovery in the 3GPP Access CATTSummary of change: If 3GPP Access is selected by the UE, the ANDSF address can be delivered to the UE in the PCO. S2-08367023.402 CR0219R1: WiMAX-specific NDS policies and information NextwaveSummary of change: Introduces the specific to WiMAX Network Discovery and Section policies and information S2-083671Frequency and conditions for triggering ND&S Nextwave, Intel This discussion paper proposes certain clarifications for the frequency and conditions that ND&S should be applied SA2-SAE Contributions (May 08)

6 6 S2- 083760 23.402 CR0319: ANDSF - Handling of editor's notes MotorolaSummary of change: It is proposed to deleted the following Editor's notes: o Editor's Note: The relation of the ANDSF to other EPS functions is FFS. It has been agreed that "The ANDSF in the subscriber's home operator network may interact with other databases such as the HSS user profile information residing in subscriber's home operator network. Details of such interaction with these databases are not described in this release of the specifications." So, this editor's note can be deleted. o Editor's Note: It is FFS what kind of policies in the UE can be used for ANDSF discovery. It has been agreed that "The ANDSF that directly interacts with the UE is located in the subscriber's home operator network." So, in Rel-8 the UE does not need any policies to decide whether to contact a vANDSF or hANDSF. So, this editor's note can be deleted. o Editor's Note: It is FFS how ANDSF discovery can be performed regardless of the PDN(s) that the UE is connected to. When the UE is using a PDN-GW in the VPLMN, the discovery of and access to an ANDSF in the HPLMN should be possible. This can be achieved with appropriate network configuration or by establishing connectivity with an additional PDN-GW in the HPLMN (if supported by the current access network). With this assumption, this editor's note can also be removed. o Editor's note: It is FFS if the ANDSF can request and retrieve the current UE's location. No major requirements have been identified so far that require the ANDSF to retrieve the UE's location. It is assumed that the UE provides its current location (e.g. a cell-ID) and requests policies and discovery info from the ANDSF. So, this editor's note can be deleted. S2- 083761 23.402 CR0320: Access network discovery information MotorolaSummary of change: Specifies that the access network discovery information shall be able to include o one or more carrier frequencies o validity conditions, i.e. conditions indicating when the provided access network information is valid. Such conditions may include e.g. a location area. The validity conditions may also indicate when the UE shall request for new access network information. The Validity conditions for inter- system mobility policies (approved in CR 0173r3, S2-083107) and the Validity conditions for access network discovery (introduced by this CR) can provide the appropriate triggers for the UE to initiate ANDS procedures. So the Editor's note in section 8.5.1 is deleted. S2- 083392 23.402 CR0278: Limitation of the frequency of UE requested ANDSF interactions EricssonSummary of change: Addition of a minimum time interval between two consecutive UE initiated requests towards the ANDSF. S2- 083758 23.402 (ANDSF Network Location) IntelProvide information about network location from ANDSF S2- 083393 23.402 CR0165R6: Addition of description of inter-system mobility policies Qualcom m Europe Summary of change: A new section is added to describe the inter-system mobility SA2-SAE Contributions (May 08)

8 8 C1-082074 (Vodafone, Intel et al) 6.8.1General In order to assist the UE with performing access network discovery and selection, a set of information needs to be provided to the UE. This information contains the access network discovery and selection information to assist the UE with selecting the access network, and/or the inter-system mobility policy to control and assist the UE with performing the inter-system change. This set of information can either be provisioned in the UE by the home operator, or provided to the UE by the ANDSF over the S14 reference point via pull or push mechanisms as defined in 3GPP TS 23.402 [4] by means of the access network discovery and selection procedures as described in subclause 6.8.2. The ANDSF is located in the subscriber's home operator network. The ANDSF can provide assistance information at any time to the UE. Also, the UE can send a request to the ANDSF in order to get assistance information for access network discovery and selection. The domain name or the IP address of the ANDSF can be provisioned in the UE by the home operator. The domain name or the IP address of the ANDSF can also be discovered by the UE by means of the DHCP query as specified in draft-ietf-mipshop-mos-dhcp-options [yy]. The ANDSF IP address, the port and the transport protocol by which the UE can contact the ANDSF can be obtained by the UE as described in draft-ietf-mipshop-mos-dns-discovery [xx]. Editor's note:When a UE is roaming, how the UE's location can be obtained by the ANDSF in order to provide the corresponding information to that UE is FFS. Editor's note:The granularity of the UE's location that the UE provides to the ANDSF is FFS. Editor's note:It is FFS how the UE can avoid the ping-ponging due to performing the inter- system changes based on the information provided by the ANDSF. Editor’s note: It is FFS how ANDSF performs the access control (i.e., user authentication and authorization) to access network discovery information and limit the amount of information delivered to the UE.
