Communication Technology II Lab I
Question 1 Explain the difference between Full duplex, Half duplex & simplex duplex ? Simplex Data in a simplex channel is always one way. Simplex channels are not often used because it is not possible to send back error or control signals to the transmit end. Half Duplex A half-duplex channel can send and receive, but not at the same time. Full Duplex Data can travel in both directions simultaneously. There is no need to switch from transmit to receive mode like in half duplex.
Question 2 What are the differences between Analog and digital transmission, and which is better?
Question 3 Explain the difference between The amplifier and Repeater? Amplifier boost analog signal’s energy for longer distance Repeater recover the digital signal and transmit
Question 4 Identify each of the following communication systems as simplex, half duplex full and full duplex? 1.Cordless telephone (Full Duplex) 2.Television Broadcast (Simplex) 3.Intercom the Push to talk (Half-Duplex)
Question 5 Why the thermal noise is sometimes called white noise?
Question 6 Why must a satellite have distinct uplink and downlink frequencies? To avoid any interference
Question 7 Indicates some differences between Broadcast radio and microwave Hint :Broadcast is omnidirectional, doesn’t require dish shaped antennas
Question 8 Why is multiplexing is so cost effective ?
Question 9 What's the Channel Capacity for teleprinter channel with 300- Hz and signal to noise ratio of 3 db?
