QuickBooks Connect (Beta) Pilot Program Introduction October 14, 2013

Confidential and Proprietary 2 What QBConnect Does Reads transactional data from your PayPal business account. Applies your preferences (‘rules’). Inserts transactions into your QuickBooks company file. Creates invoices, credits, customers, items, automatically according to your rules. QBConnect retrieves PayPal data every few minutes. QuickBooks refreshes on a schedule you choose, or manually if you like.

Confidential and Proprietary 3 What QBConnect Does NOT Do QBConnect never modifies data that lives at PayPal (It’s not possible to “write” or change data in your PayPal account.) QBConnect does not recognize withdraws you make from PayPal, or transfers you make in or out of your bank.

Confidential and Proprietary 4 QBConnect – Before you Begin Decide which QuickBooks company file you will use to try out the new service. Do not use your ‘real’ company file. (We recommend making a backup of your ‘real’ company file, then restore that backup to a new company you can use to discover how the QBConnect service works.) Open QuickBooks and the target company file. Log in to the QuickBook company as “Admin”

Confidential and Proprietary 5 QBConnect – One-time Initial Setup Go to https://paypal.dotfeed.com, follow the onscreen prompts.https://paypal.dotfeed.com Download and open the configuration file. Follow QuickBooks’ prompts When asked if you want to allow the application to read and modify the company file, choose “Yes, whenever the QuickBooks company file is open.” Enter your “API Password” into the QuickBooks Web Connector (QWC) window, and save when prompted. Manually update from within the QWC window. Flip back to the QBConnector window and resume with Step 7.

Confidential and Proprietary 6 QBConnect – Setting Preferences Required preferences must be set before you can activate the service. “Set it and forget it:” Once you set preferences the way you like, you shouldn’t have to change them unless you want to change The Rules. Demo and discussion

Confidential and Proprietary 7 QBConnect – Known Issues Shipping costs, if configured at PayPal, don’t come through QBConnect. In this case, the customer will have been charged for shipping, but QuickBooks will be unaware of the shipping fees charged. Working on a solution. When a reversal is encountered (e.g. a chargeback), fees levied by PayPal will not be recorded. Working on a solution. z“Leave Credit on Customer” preference doesn’t work correctly – For now, we’ve disabled the preference in the preferences window. Will be fixed this week. Once you associate QBConnect to a QuickBooks company, you won’t be able to switch to another QB company without our help.

Confidential and Proprietary 8 QBConnect – Feedback and Support Thank you! We really appreciate your participation in this pilot program. All feedback is vital to us – issue reports, feature requests – anything. The best way to give us your feedback is to visit the new PayPal community forum. Click “Community” in QBConnect Preferences menu.
