Come Holy Spirit Part 2 The Ministry of the Holy Spirit

“Who Is the Holy Spirit” Part 1: “Who Is the Holy Spirit” 1.The Ruwach….the Sweet Wind of God 2. The Holy Spirit is GOD 3. The Holy Spirit has been “eternally” active

John 14: 15-20, 15 “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. 16 "I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; 17 that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.

18"I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 “After a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also. 20 “In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. 21 “ He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him."

"When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me,” - John 15:26

John 16:7-15 sin righteousnessjudgment 7"But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. 8"And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment; 9concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10and concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father and you no longer see Me;

11 and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged. 12 "I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13"But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. 14"He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you. 15 “All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said that He takes of Mine and will disclose it to you.

The Spirit’s Two-fold Ministry conviction 1.The Holy Spirit brings conviction to the world. guidance 2.He gives guidance by revelation to the believer.

“And He, when He comes, will convict the world……” ConvictionCondemnation Conviction Vs Condemnation  Conviction draws people closer  Condemnation belittles and drives people away The “law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus” sets the believer free from condemnation. (Romans 8: 1-2)

“..... concerning sin,”  The essence of sin is the rejection of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.  Without the conviction of sin, no one would ever come to salvation.  Pray that the Holy Spirit will have a full ministry of conviction.

“concerning righteousness,” The Jews rejected Jesus because: 1. They were looking for a political ruler. 2.Jesus referred to Himself as “pre-existent ” 3.Jesus allowed Himself to be “hung” on a tree. righteousnessholiness (Insight) The coming of the Holy Spirit validated the righteousness and holiness of Jesus Christ.

“... concerning judgment  At the Cross, and by His resurrection, Jesus triumphed over Satan disarmed triumphingover them in Him [God] disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him (Jesus) and in it [the cross]. Col. 2: 15 / Amplified Bible  Divine judgment will indeed be coming to all unbelievers.

The Ministry to Believers guide 1.“He will guide you into all truth” (v.13) speak 2.“He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.” (v.13) glorify 3.“He will glorify Me,” (v.14)  Every time the Holy Spirit gives us a new revelation of Jesus and His Word, Jesus Christ is glorified.

Welcoming the Holy Spirit Next Week: Welcoming the Holy Spirit  Be Respectful and Sensitive The Holy Spirit is not easily distracted, but people are. The Holy Spirit is hindered by our lack of sensitive.  Begin to “Prepare” your heart.  Say…..start to pray, “Come, Holy Spirit; I welcome you.”
