This highly competitive program has become one of the Navy’s largest commissioning sources and only the best-qualified applicants are selected.

3 NAVAL RESERVE OFFICER TRAINING CORPS NROTC The mission of the NROTC Program today... is to develop young men and women morally, mentally, and physically, and to instill in them the highest ideals of honor, courage, and commitment. The program educates and trains young men and women for leadership positions in an increasingly technical Navy.

5 NAVAL RESERVE OFFICER TRAINING CORPS NROTC The NROTC scholarship does much more than cover most or all tuition costs at dozens of top schools around the country. It also provides:  All additional educational and lab fees  A stipend for text books  A subsistence allowance each academic month to spend as you wish, which varies according your current year in school. 8 NAVAL RESERVE OFFICER TRAINING CORPS NROTC Undergraduate academic majors for NROTC Navy option midshipmen are divided into three categories or tiers: Tier 1 - engineering programs of Navy interest Tier 2 - other engineering, math and science programs Tier 3 - Foreign language and remaining academic programs Approximately 85% of Navy Option NROTC scholarships offers will be awarded to students interested in completing a Tier 1 or Tier 2 academic major. 9 NAVAL RESERVE OFFICER TRAINING CORPS NROTC  Earn Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN)  Receive clinical hands-on training with the latest equipment.  Upon graduation, NROTC Nurse Option Midshipman are commissioned as officers in the Navy Nurse Corps.  Earn Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN)  Receive clinical hands-on training with the latest equipment.  Upon graduation, NROTC Nurse Option Midshipman are commissioned as officers in the Navy Nurse Corps. Nurse Option - leads to post-graduation commissioning in the US Navy as an ensign (O-1) in the Navy Nursing Corps, part of the Department of the Navy Bureau of Medicine.

12 NAVAL RESERVE OFFICER TRAINING CORPS NROTC Basic Eligibility Requirements *If applicant is in the top 10% of his/her high school graduating class, the SAT/ACT test scores can be below the above stated minimum.

14 NAVAL RESERVE OFFICER TRAINING CORPS NROTC Navy Option midshipmen will be required to serve a minimum of five years of active military service. 17 NAVAL RESERVE OFFICER TRAINING CORPS NROTC IMMEDIATE SCHOLARSHIP RESERVATION (ISR) Allows the Navy Recruiting District Commanding Officer the ability to grant NROTC Scholarships to outstanding candidates who are qualified and highly motivated for an ISR, the NROTC Program, and commissioning in the Navy.

18 NAVAL RESERVE OFFICER TRAINING CORPS NROTC IMMEDIATE SCHOLARSHIP RESERVATION (ISR) Applicants must meet the following criteria in addition to the basic requirements for the Four-Year NROTC Scholarship: SAT/ACT Minimum Scores: SAT: 530 English & 600 Math ACT: 22 English & 26 Math Composite: 1230/54 Have significant involvement in school, community, or extracurricular activities. Be in the top 20% of their high school class. (Waivers available in some cases) Must meet Navy height and weight standards or be within body fat standards.
