Why do we teach EASA-Modules at the Vocational School Erding? That means for the qualification of an aircraft mechanic in Germany for the civil sector: Since the 30th October 2004: Final theoretical and practical examination set by the IHK (Industrie und Handelskammer = Chamber of Commerce and Industry) with a result of 75 % or better and the 3 modules (M9 Human Factors, M10 Aviation Legislation and M11.5.2 Avionik Systems). This is a special contract between LBA and the IHK!!

Why do we teach EASA-Modules at the Vocational School Erding? That means for the qualification of an aircraft mechanic in Germany for the military sector: Until now: Final theoretical and practical examination set by the IHK (Industrie und Handelskammer = Chamber of Commerce and Industry) with a result of 50 % or better. The military sector needs no EASA-certification.

Why do we teach EASA-Modules at the Vocational School Erding? That means for the qualification of an aircraft mechanic in Germany for the military sector: If he wants to change into the civil sector he will need: A delta-training of about 40 days (If he has not 75% and not the 3 modules). A delta-training of about 30 days (If he has not 75% and but the 3 modules). A half year working in the military sector. Another half year working in an EASA 145-certified company.

Why do we teach EASA-Modules at the Vocational School Erding? The difference between EASA and the Dual System (IHK) is: Dual System: ~ 4000h (3,5 years) EASA: ~ 2100h (2 years) Difference: ~ 300h

Why do we teach EASA-Modules at the Vocational School Erding? Conclusion: The training in the Dual System is much longer. But the 3 modules M9, M10 and M11.5.2 are not included. The Vocational School Erding is teaching and testing the 3 modules. The Vocational School Erding is an EASA 147- certified school.

Why do we teach EASA-Modules at the Vocational School Erding? EASA means: a lot of work for the teachers!!! The teachers wrote a „handbook“ including the layout of the certificates etc. for the LBA. Self-training of the teachers in the 3 modules. The time for the 3 modules (10 days) was build into the syllabus for the vocational schools in Bavaria. The teachers design and correct the tests. They have to make a training at e.g. LTT until 2007.

Why do we teach EASA-Modules at the Vocational School Erding? The future: In the Framework Curriculum for the Vocational Schools in Germany for Electricians for Aircraft Systems the 3 modules are already included. A testing of the 3 modules at the Vocational School is not necessary!
