7. What should you do if you have an emergency? Call 9-1-1 –Not 9-9-1 or 911 there is no eleven on the telephone dial

8. When someone answers, tell them: Your name My name is Johnny or Susie Smith There is a fire in my house My address is 101 Smith Road I am calling on a cell phone from my meeting place at the mailbox OR I am calling from the neighbor’s house Where your emergency is What your emergency is Where you are calling from Remember to be calm - don’t be afraid Remember to speak slowly and clearly so the operator understands everything you say - then listen for the operator’s instructions

9. When should you call 9-1-1 Report an accident Report a fire –always get out first and call 9-1-1 from a neighbor’s house or a cell phone Report a serious injury If you are in danger
