Suspense: apprehension about what is going to happen; a state or condition of mental uncertainty or excitement, as in awaiting a decision or outcome, usually accompanied by a degree of apprehension or anxiety. 4. Round Character: a well developed character who demonstrates varied and sometimes contradictory traits. Round characters are usually dynamic (change in some way over the course of a story). 5. Flat Character: a character who reveals only one, maybe two, personality traits in a story or novel, and the trait(s) do not change. 2. Warm Up 8-19-2014 If I Could Have Gone to Harvard….. Could’ve is the contraction of could have. People sometimes write could of when they mean could’ve or could have. Unfortunately, could of is an imaginary phrase. Never use it! To memorize this rule, write four sentences using could have. Write one about rhinestones, one about fake nails, one about college, and one about a suitcase.
