10. Let’s go over the questions. Chapter 9 1. What does it mean that the Tita-Rosaura relationship had been like water in boiling oil? 2. How does Rosaura’s attitude towards Tita change in this chapter? (give examples) 3. What does the ghost of Mama Elena tell Tita about her baby? 4. Gertrudis returns; have things turned out well for her? Explain.

11. Chapter 10 1. What is Gertrudis’ reaction to Tita’s fear that she is pregnant? 2. What effect does confronting Mama Elena’s ghost have on Tita (both mentally and physically)? 3. How does Pedro take the news of Tita’s pregnancy 4. How has Tita’s and Rosaura’s relationship changed (again!) in this chapter?

12. Group Questions  I am going to give each group a question for them to answer.  Discuss the question, and the person who lives closest to El Camino College shares the group’s ideas with the class.  The rest of the class takes notes.

It will look a lot like passage I gave you, but there will be more. You will get these several times throughout the semester. 3. Optional: Practice your vocab words. Go to Engrade, Calendar, March 6.  Answers to DRP passage on our course website.  Go to “Lab Activities” and today’s date-March 19.  Please correct your own work. When you are finished, turn your lab assignment sheet and corrected DRP passage.
