2. What is the community?  Duty to provide a comprehensive and efficient service to all who live, work or study in the area that wish to use it  Everyone and Everything!

3. What links may exist?  Many! Schools Other education providers (e.g. FE,HE,Independent) Reading Groups Health sector Other Local and Central Gov’t departments Third Sector Etc, etc

4. Opportunities for FE Colleges (1)  Public Libraries will often:- Promote FE courses  Prospectuses, displays, etc Provide premises for courses  Maybe free or charged  Offering alternative to formal setting  Opportunity to get closer to the public

5. Opportunities for FE Colleges (2)  Run joint courses E.g. During Adult Learners Week  Broaden access for students to public library facilities and resources  cyberLibrary cyberLibrary  Links to catalogues and websitescatalogues  Author events  Special collections

6. Opportunities for FE Colleges (3)  Support reading development E books and audio books Reading Group support Six Book Challenge Man Booker / Orange Prize SW Reading Passport
