2 Introductory remarks The EU transnational programmes: have a strong link to the EU policies in relevant fields, for example to: –Employment Package –Youth Employment Package –Social Investment Package –Rethinking Education –National Qualification Frameworks –EU Skills Panorama many proposals tend to be scored highly on relevance to the programme objectives and impact usually highlight the importance of the European added value complementarity to national actions impact

3 Employment and Social Innovation (EaSI) Total budget for 2014-2020: €919,469m Three axes: Progress (61%), EURES (18%) and Microfinance and Social Entrepreneurship (21%) Objectives: –strengthening the ownership of EU objectives in employment, social affairs and inclusion (coordinating actions at EU and national level); –supporting policy and legislation development; –promoting geographical mobility and boosting employment opportunities; –increasing the availability and accessibility of microfinance for vulnerable groups and micro-enterprises; and –increasing access to finance for social enterprises. Calls for proposals: likely in Spring 2014

4 EaSI: Progress axis Thematic focus: –youth employment (min. 20%); –social protection, social inclusion and preventing poverty (min. 50%); –working conditions (min. 10%). Objectives: –develop comparative analytical knowledge; –facilitate information-sharing, mutual learning and dialogue; –provide financial support to test social and labour market policy innovations; –support for organisations to develop, promote and implement the EU instruments and policies. Actions: –cooperation projects, studies, peer reviews / mutual learning activities, events

5 Horizon 2020 Total budget for 2014-2020: €80bn Objective: drive economic growth and create jobs Main three areas of the programme/ underlying goals: –excellent science/ production of world-class science (€24.4bn) –industrial leadership/ removal of barriers to innovation (€17bn) –tackling societal challenges (€29.7bn) Eligibility: –most themes support collaborative research projects where at least three organisations from different countries form a consortium

7 Erasmus+ Total budget for 2014-2020: €14.7bn Objectives: –support transnational partnerships among education, training, and youth organisations to link the worlds of education and work and to tackle the skills gaps; –support national efforts to modernise education, training, and youth policies; –in the field of sport, there will be support for grassroots projects and cross-border challenges such as combating match-fixing, doping, violence and racism. Actions: –Key Action 1 Learning mobility of individuals –Key Action 2 Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices –Key Action 3 Support for policy reform
