3. Many of us hackers had been playing with the Belden Golf Association for 10+ years. The company name had changed over the years from AT&T to Lucent Technologies, to CSI and finally Belden. This golf league was begat from Ma Bell. In 2004, Belden went out of business and telephone cable manufacturing was shipped overseas. 1500+ employees were laid off and the golf league was kaput. After a few months some of us got together to try and revive the fun golf.

4. The 1 st ever U-HACK event July 2004 was at Grayhawk!

5. Of course we knew zero, nada, nothing about running a tournament. We just knew we liked to golf and enjoyed getting together with friends.

7. Our next stab was Corte Bella in August 2004
