3. 10/11/2014 Our visit to Sakhangyi in 2003 1988 Three Christians from the Chin tribe wrote to our IA. 1990 A S’pore brother working in Yangon liaised with the IA to send missionaries. 22-25 Nov 1996 IA missionaries first set foot at Kalaymyo, Sagaing Division, a border town near the Chin State. 2000 S’pore Coordination Board (SCB) was assigned the work in Myanmar and the Myanmar Mission Committee (MMC) was formed. Chin State 10/11/2014 NEW AREA Aizawl Ministry Capital of Mizoram State in NE India Shares common border with Chin State in NW Myanmar Part of ancestral homeland of the Chins; Mizo-speaking Christian government with strong Presbyterian influence Entry restrictions – special permit/at least 4 persons Most members working there are from Natkyigone (abt 15) A few brethren from other Chin tribes in other places of Mizoram Inagural visit in Feb, 2 nd visit in May 2010 Weekly Sabbath services started in Mar 2010 Most members can attend church only on Sunday, the official rest day A small number of keen truthseekers Mission assistants to visit & conduct services once a month Pray for our Myanmar Ministry
