According to research, reading helps to improve a student’s overall academic performance both in life and in school. The act of reading, no matter how difficult the material may be, provides a means of enrichment that is much needed in our society. Mahanoy Area will participate in summer reading to help both the students and the society.
All high school students (including Votech students) must read two novels. During the first two weeks of school, all students will receive an assessment over the novel(s). Books will be available to check out in the high school office, the public library, or from the classroom teacher. If desired, books can also be purchased at a store or through the Nook or Kindle for your own personal use.
