2. Geographical Location Found in the Southern High Plains in the United States. Usually in round depressions or flat landscapes of West Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, and Kansas.

4. Description They are round hollows in the ground They are only present a few times throughout the year. They’re mostly filled with water after rainstorms. There is two types of playas; fresh water and salt water playas. The salt water playa is fed by underground aquifers which carry the salt as it percolates through the soil. Playa’s are made from carving of the wind.

5. Human use Provides water to locations that hardly receive any rain. They are helpful with agriculture. It provides irrigation Used for drinking water

6. Threats The water is being used up faster than its being replenished. Pollution: harms the plants and animals (death) Runoff: causes to hold less water and decreases biodiversity Holds animal waste: alters groundwater purity Solutions: using good farming techniques like planting vegetation to filter wastes.
