What Is He Or She Doing?
Using Action Words That End in –ing for One Person; Using Yes, he/she is and No, he/she isn't
What is he doing? What is she doing? He is walking. She is playing.
What is she doing? What is he doing? She is singing. He is coloring.
What is she doing? What is he doing? She is reading He is eating.
REMEMBER ! Add –ing to action words to tell what one is doing at the time of speaking. Examples: Sing-singing Ring-ringing
Is she playing? Is he sleeping? Yes, she is. No, he’s not.
REMEMBER ! Answer Yes, he is or Yes, she is if the person is doing the action being asked. Answer No, he isn’t or No, she isn’t if the person is not doing the action being asked.
What are they doing?

What are they doing? The cat and the kitten are sleeping. They are sleeping. The hen and the duck are eating. They are eating.
REMEMBER ! Add –ing to action words that tell what two or more people and animals are doing at the time of speaking. Example: They are laughing.
Are they dancing? Are they playing? Yes, they are. No, they aren’t.
REMEMBER ! Answer Yes, they are if two or more people or animals are doing the action being asked. Answer No, they aren’t if two or more people or animals are not doing the action being asked.
